The Charitable Organization "Charitable Fund for the Development of the National Library of Ukraine for Children" together with the NBU regularly conducts events for children aimed at expanding the technical knowledge of children and participates in international events within the framework of the Meet and Code initiative with the support of the GURT Resource Center, which is a partner of the TechSoup Global Network
During three days from October 15 to 17, 2019. in the National Library of Ukraine for children, as part of the European Coding Week, master classes on robotics and IT programming were held, which were attended by about 100 children aged 10 to 12 years. At three locations, Code Club UA network volunteers taught children the basics of Scratch and Python programming; studied the components of robotics using LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 and LEGO Mindstorms. Thanks to QR codes, children learned how to make a block diagram of a computer and familiarized themselves with its main details, mastered 3-D technology and its principles of operation, took part in a QR quiz, acquired robotics skills with interest - designed their own robots, and then programmed them using the Scratch program. Young inventors presented their robot models at the exhibition "What Robot-Machines Can Do"
The Robotics Workshop event aroused great interest of children in technology, mathematics, engineering, and construction. This contributes to the development of project thinking in children, mastery of new software products and information services.
