Awarding of the participants of the competition "My Wimmel Library" at the Opening Festival of the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages.
On September 9, the Opening Festival of the Ukrainian-German Year of Languages took place on Kontraktova Square, where the National Library of Ukraine for Children also presented its program.
As part of the event, the participants of the children's illustration contest "My Wimmel Library" were awarded, which the National Library of Ukraine for Children held in the spring together with the publishing house "Artbuks", the first publishing house in Ukraine that opened Wimmel books for the Ukrainian reader.
The task of the competition was to depict an imaginary library, that is, one that does not yet exist in reality. Works depicting our library in the style of Wimmelbuch were also welcome. A total of 22 works from library visitors and students of the "Little Prince" art school were submitted to the competition.
In the solemn atmosphere of the Festival, the participants of the competition presented their drawings and told how they imagine the library to be.
According to the results of the competition, three main winners were determined, to whom the editor-in-chief of the publishing house "Artbuks" Maria Kurochkina presented gifts: novelties of the publishing house "Artbuks" and souvenirs from the Goethe Institute in Ukraine. All participants of the competition received incentive prizes.
The library's program ended with interesting master classes: all those willing made crowns for princesses and princes from the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm and original "Frog King" postcards using the iris-holding technique.
