As part of the “Unity for Action” program, implemented by IREX with support from the U.S. Department of State and based at the National Library of Ukraine for Children, the “You Are Not Alone” project has been launched—a creative co-working space for internally displaced children and teenagers.
Its goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment of equal opportunities—a place for communication, collaborative learning, meaningful leisure, and new opportunities for emotional and social development; to promote integration, provide support and assistance, and help mitigate the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
Objectives of the space:

Establish a dedicated “IDP Corner” to offer practical assistance from specialists, high-quality psychosocial services, and develop effective approaches to working with IDP families.

Support the adaptation of internally displaced children and teenagers to new living conditions, reduce their vulnerability, overcome the effects of forced displacement, and accelerate integration into the local community.

Organize meaningful leisure activities that foster harmonious development in a safe atmosphere, promote a culture of reading, and ensure free access to information.

Cultivate in children a sense of dignity, responsibility, patriotism, and respect for Ukraine and its history.

Enhance resilience and contribute to the national recovery of the country.

Foster active participation in civic life.
This space provides access to top library resources and creates conditions for bibliotherapeutic activities, supporting the mental health of both young and adult users.
